Under 11′s Bounce Back
0After last week’s 5 nil reverse against Felpham Rangers, the U 11′s faced another tough test this week against Felpham Youth, and won a very evenly fought contest 2-1. Both teams started the match with identical records, having won 3 & lost 1 of their opening 4 matches, and the game proved to be as close as the positions suggested. The 1st half saw Utd’s midfield battling & working hard & committed to every tackle while the defence were coping well with Felpham’s attacks. At the other end James was working hard up front & was rewarded with the only goal of the 1st half after latching onto Shaun’s long drop kick & expertly lobbing the keeper to put Utd 1-0 up at half time. The 2nd half was much the same as the 1st, with Finton & Sam especially continuing on from the 1st half with a battling performance, and despite conceeding an equaliser, Utd went straight up the other end and forced a 2nd goal from James after a goal mouth scramble, which proved to be the winner as Utd held firm upto the final whistle. The coaching staff were keen to praise the team for bouncing back from last week & producing a spirited performance making me very proud of evryone’s performance.Man of the Match was Owen with another consistent display.
